Territory Jerky Hot Beef Jerky Review

I’ve reviewed several Australian jerky brands on this site now and so far I’ve enjoyed them all. But Territory Jerky is one that I’m really not enjoying. I find this one very different to all of the others and I kind of respect the attempt made here, but I just don’t really enjoy it. Somehow this is 70% Protein whilst all the other ones I’ve had are just under 50%.

The positive traits it advertises on the packet are that it’s got no MSG, preservatives, artificial colouring or flavouring and the total ingredient list is much shorter than any others but… This is like eating tree bark. It is crispy, hard, crunchy and brittle. A very different texture to any of the others. I’ve had this once or twice before and recall not liking it much and now I remember why.

Ingredients: Beef, Soybeans, Wheat, Lemon Juice, Salt, Spices.

There are no allergin warnings on the packet.

About Territory Jerky

Territory Jerky is based in Alice Springs, in the Northern Territory and has been in business since 1983. Their process for cooking their jerky is different to most other brands as they use a woodsmoke technique, which I guess is why it reminds me of tree bark.

Conclusion

Whilst Territory Jerky is not for me, they must be doing something right, having been around for so long and being sold at BWS & Dan Murphy’s stores.
